Abstract

Epigastric pain, characterized by pain in the upper abdominal epigastric region, is a condition commonly associated with the
Spleen-Stomach deficiency-cold type. Clinical studies have indicated significant effectiveness in treating this type of epigastric pain through
the combined use of Liangjiang Decoction from the traditional Chinese medicine text “Qianjin” and acupuncture. In this integrative approach, acupuncture enhances the warming and invigorating effects of Liangjiang Decoction, while the decoction contributes to supplementing the acupuncture’s role in promoting meridian circulation and qi flow. This article provides a comprehensive review of acupuncture, Chi_x0002_nese herbal decoctions, and their combined therapeutic approach, aiming to establish a foundation for further exploration in the prevention
and treatment of spleen-stomach deficiency-cold type epigastric pain. The goal is to maximize therapeutic efficacy in clinical practice.
