Abstract

Objective: To share the nursing experience of PICC placement in a patient with perpetuated left superior vena cava. Methods: The
clinical data of a patient with permanent left superior vena cava were collected, and the patient was cared for before and during catheterization, positioning and continuous care after catheterization. Through the establishment of special case files and follow-up, catheter maintenance is strengthened, so as to ensure the safety of patient catheterization and prevent complications. Results: The PICC placement process
was smooth and the PICC catheter could be used normally. Conclusions: Comprehensive evaluation before catheterization and follow-up
after catheterization can improve the quality of intravenous treatment and ensure the treatment safety of patients with catheterization.
