Advances in Perinatal Maternal VTE Prevention Research

Chenxi Zhang, Na Zhou, Xuan Zhang, Bingying Ma

Abstract

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a condition in which blood coagulates abnormally in the lumen of the vein and forms an em_x005fbolus that blocks the vein, causing obstruction of blood circulation. VTE, as one of the most important causes of maternal deaths, can even
jeopardize the lives of the pregnant woman and the fetus in severe cases. Early diagnosis, early prevention and treatment are the main measures to reduce the mortality rate of VTE in pregnancy. Early diagnosis, early prevention and early treatment are the main measures to reduce
maternal VTE mortality, so effective management and prevention of venous thromboembolism is of great significance to reduce maternal
mortality. This article summarizes the causes of maternal venous thromboembolism, risk factors, prevention methods, and risk assessment
tools in the context of domestic and international studies, expert consensus, and guidelines, with the aim of helping clinicians to understand
the progress of research on perinatal maternal prevention, and providing references for the development of preventive and interventional
measures for the disease.
