Abstract

OBJECTIVE: This study aims to explore the improved and Huu innovativehealth moxibustion tools and materials based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine heat-sensitive moxibustion, and to observe their effects in the treatment of osteoporosis with kidney yang deficiency.METHODS: Sixty patients diagnosed with renal yang deficiency type osteoporosis in Chinese medicine hospitals from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected and randomly divided into 30 cases each in the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group was treated with modified gourd health moxibustion moxibustion tools combined with heat-sensitive moxibustion, together with strong tendon and bone-strengthening granules, while the control group was treated with heat-sensitive moxibustion using traditional moxibustion tools, and at the same time taking Xian Ling Bone Bo capsule. Bone density changes, pain scores, and improvement of kidney yang deficiency symptoms were observed and compared between the two groups before and 1 week and 2, 4, and 6 weeks after treatment. RESULTS: There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of bone mineral density, pain score and kidney yang deficiency symptoms before and 1 week after treatment (P > 0.05). While in the 2nd, 4th and 6th weeks after treatment, the improvement of bone mineral density, pain score and kidney yang deficiency symptoms in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The improvement and innovation of the moxibustion tools and moxibustion materials of gourd health moxibustion based on the theory of heat-sensitive moxibustion, combined with the treatment of kidney-yang deficiency type osteoporosis with the combination of strong tendon and bone-strengthening granules, can effectively improve the bone mineral density, alleviate the pain and improve the symptoms of kidney-yang deficiency, with a good safety and precise efficacy, which is worthy of being popularized and applied in the clinic.
